The exchange of expertise between budget and fiscal policy makers and academics is one way to increase the efficiency of public finances and an initiative for the further development of theory and research in this area.
The Fiscal Dialogue organizers intention is to create a platform for creative communication. Our first annual conference, the Fiscal Dialogue cycle, aims to establish the tradition of this continuous exchange of views.
The growing importance of regional and local authorities in public administration and public finances raises several practical and theoretical questions. Fiscal decentralization and the effectiveness of regional and local authorities are the subject of practical policy and economic theory. The topic of this year's conference is Fiscal Decentralization and Effectiveness of Regional and Local Authorities in the EU.
The first Fiscal Dialogue is creating conditions for the active participation of domestic and foreign participants in discussion about fiscal decentralization and the effectiveness of regional and local authorities. A peer-reviewed conference proceedings, prepared according to Thomson Reuters principles, will be published to promote and popularize these views.
